Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 July 2026

Croatia Dental Guide respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we use it, when it may be shared and the choices you have.

Croatia Dental Guide provides independent information and practical support for people considering dental treatment in Croatia. We are not a dental clinic and do not provide diagnosis, emergency care or dental treatment.

1. Who is responsible for your information?

Croatia Dental Guide is currently operated by Ivan Brajkovic, trading as Croatia Dental Guide.

For data-protection purposes, Ivan Brajkovic is the controller of the personal information described in this policy.

Trading name: Croatia Dental Guide

Email: hello@croatiadentalguide.co.uk

Website: croatiadentalguide.co.uk

If a company is established to operate Croatia Dental Guide in the future, this policy will be updated with the company’s legal details.

2. Information we may collect

We may collect information you provide when you:

  • submit a Clinic & Cost Plan request;
  • contact us by email or through a website form;
  • ask us to help compare clinics, costs or treatment options;
  • send us a quotation, treatment plan, scan, photograph or other document;
  • agree to be introduced to a clinic;
  • subscribe to receive occasional email updates; or
  • continue corresponding with us after making an enquiry.

This information may include:

  • your name, email address and telephone number;
  • your country or general location;
  • the dental treatment you are considering;
  • your preferred timeframe, destination, budget and travel preferences;
  • details you choose to provide about your dental history, symptoms or treatment needs;
  • clinic quotations, treatment plans, scans or photographs you choose to submit;
  • your correspondence with us; and
  • your consent and marketing preferences.

Please provide only information that is reasonably necessary for us to help with your enquiry.

3. Health and dental information

Information about your dental condition, medical history, symptoms, scans or proposed treatment may be classed as health data. Health data receives additional protection under data-protection law.

Where you voluntarily provide this information, we use it only to review your request, understand the support you are seeking and, where agreed, help obtain relevant information from suitable clinics.

We rely on your explicit consent to process health or dental information for these purposes. You may withdraw that consent at any time by emailing us. Withdrawal will not affect processing that has already taken place, but it may prevent us from continuing with your request.

4. Information collected automatically

When you visit our website, some technical information may be collected automatically, including:

  • your IP address;
  • browser, device and operating-system information;
  • pages visited and referring pages;
  • the date and time of your visit;
  • general interaction and performance data; and
  • cookie and consent preferences.

This information may be processed through our website hosting, security, analytics and cookie-consent services.

5. How we use your information

  • respond to your questions and requests;
  • review your Clinic & Cost Plan enquiry;
  • understand the treatment, budget, timing and travel arrangements you are considering;
  • prepare practical guidance, a clinic shortlist, a cost guide or suggested next steps;
  • communicate with you and request additional information where reasonably necessary;
  • introduce you to a clinic where you have agreed to this;
  • maintain appropriate records of enquiries and communications;
  • improve our website, guides and services;
  • protect the website from spam, fraud, abuse and security threats;
  • comply with legal obligations and defend legal claims; and
  • send occasional email updates where you have separately chosen to receive them.

We do not use automated systems to diagnose you or make medical decisions about you.

6. Our lawful bases

Responding to enquiries and providing requested support

We process ordinary personal information because it is necessary to respond to your request and, where relevant, take steps at your request before providing a service.

We may also rely on our legitimate interests in operating Croatia Dental Guide, answering enquiries, maintaining records, protecting the website and improving our services, provided those interests do not override your rights.

Health and dental information

We rely on your explicit consent when processing health or dental information that you voluntarily submit.

Email updates

Where you actively choose to receive occasional emails, we rely on your consent. You can unsubscribe through the link in an email or by contacting us.

Legal and security purposes

We may process information where necessary to comply with a legal obligation or for our legitimate interests in protecting the website, preventing misuse and establishing or defending legal claims.

7. Sharing information with dental clinics

Submitting an enquiry does not automatically send your personal information to a dental clinic.

Where an introduction, quotation request or preliminary case review would be useful, we will explain what information needs to be shared and ask for your agreement first.

  • your name and contact details;
  • the treatment you are considering;
  • relevant health or dental information you have provided;
  • documents, scans or photographs you have chosen to submit; and
  • your timing, budget or travel requirements.

Once a clinic receives your information, it may act as a separate data controller and should explain how it uses and protects your information. We recommend reviewing the clinic’s privacy policy before sending extensive medical records.

8. Other organisations we may use

  • website hosting and WordPress service providers;
  • website form and email providers;
  • security, spam-prevention and verification services, including Cloudflare Turnstile;
  • analytics and cookie-consent providers;
  • document-storage or communication services where used;
  • professional advisers such as accountants or legal advisers; and
  • courts, regulators or public authorities where disclosure is legally required.

We do not sell your personal information.

9. International transfers

Croatia Dental Guide may work with clinics in Croatia and use technology providers that process information in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or other countries.

Where personal information is transferred internationally, we take reasonable steps to use an appropriate legal safeguard. This may include transferring information to a country recognised as providing adequate protection, using approved contractual safeguards or relying on another lawful transfer mechanism.

10. How long we keep information

  • General enquiries: up to 24 months after the last meaningful communication.
  • Clinic & Cost Plan enquiries: up to 24 months after the last meaningful communication.
  • Health information and uploaded documents: normally up to 12 months after the enquiry closes, unless you ask us to continue helping or a longer period is reasonably needed.
  • Clinic-introduction records: up to 36 months.
  • Marketing records: until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent. We may retain a limited suppression record to ensure that we respect your request.
  • Technical and security logs: normally up to 12 months.
  • Legal, tax or dispute records: for as long as required by law or reasonably necessary to establish or defend a claim.

We may delete or anonymise information sooner where it is no longer needed.

11. How we protect your information

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure.

These measures may include encrypted website connections, access controls, strong account security, spam filtering, updated software, restricted access and regular deletion of information that is no longer needed.

No website, email service or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Please avoid sending information that is not necessary for your enquiry.

12. Cookies

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies for essential functions, security, remembering preferences, measuring website use and improving performance.

Where consent is legally required, non-essential cookies will not be activated until you make a choice through the website’s cookie banner or settings tool.

You can change your cookie preferences through the cookie settings available on the website.

13. Your rights

  • receive information about how your personal information is used;
  • request a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • ask us to delete information;
  • ask us to restrict how information is used;
  • object to certain processing;
  • request transfer of information you provided in a suitable format;
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and
  • complain to a data-protection authority.

These rights are not absolute and may depend on the circumstances and the lawful basis involved.

To make a request, email hello@croatiadentalguide.co.uk with “Data protection request” in the subject line. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

14. Complaints

Please contact us first if you have concerns about how your personal information has been handled. We will try to resolve the matter promptly.

16. Children

Croatia Dental Guide is intended primarily for adults considering dental treatment.

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children without the involvement of a parent or legal guardian. Where an enquiry concerns a child, a parent or guardian should submit it and avoid providing unnecessary information.
