Clinic standards

How We Choose Clinics

We do not want Croatia Dental Guide to become a directory where any clinic can pay to look trustworthy. Our aim is to recommend clinics only when we can explain why they deserve a patient’s consideration.

Patients come first.

A clinic should never be recommended simply because it pays. Commercial relationships may help fund the guide, but they should not secretly decide what we say or who we recommend.

Recommendations need reasons.

If we cannot clearly explain why a clinic is listed or recommended, it should not be presented as a trusted option. Good recommendations are based on criteria, not vague marketing language.

Our review framework

What we look for before featuring a clinic

No single factor makes a clinic trustworthy. We look at the full picture: clinical experience, treatment planning, communication, technology, transparency and aftercare.

Clinical experience

Who performs the treatment? What experience do they have with similar cases? Are complex treatments handled by suitably experienced clinicians?

Treatment planning

Does the clinic use proper diagnostics, scans and planning before giving a final recommendation? Are alternatives explained clearly?

Technology and materials

We look for clinics using appropriate modern technology, recognised implant systems, quality ceramics and clear laboratory standards.

Communication

Patients travelling from the UK need clear English communication, realistic explanations, transparent quotes and a team that responds reliably.

Pricing transparency

We prefer clinics that explain what is included, what may cost extra, what assumptions the quote is based on, and when the final price may change.

Aftercare and follow-up

Good treatment abroad does not end when the patient flies home. We look at warranties, follow-up systems and how complications are handled.

What we avoid

A clinic does not earn trust by being the cheapest.

Low cost can be part of the reason patients consider Croatia, but it should never be the only reason to choose a clinic. A cheap quote can become expensive if the planning, communication or aftercare is weak.

Red flags we take seriously

  • Pressure to book quickly or pay a deposit before understanding the treatment.
  • Vague treatment plans or unclear explanations.
  • Unrealistic promises about results, timelines or savings.
  • Poor communication before treatment begins.
  • No clear explanation of aftercare, warranties or complications.
  • Quotes that are attractive but incomplete.

What a recommendation means — and what it does not mean

Even a good clinic cannot guarantee a perfect outcome. Dentistry is healthcare, and every patient is different. Our role is to help patients ask better questions and compare options more carefully.

It means

  • We believe the clinic deserves serious consideration.
  • We can explain why it may be suitable for certain patients.
  • We have looked beyond price and marketing claims.
  • We are comfortable associating our reputation with the recommendation.

It does not mean

  • Every patient should choose that clinic.
  • The cheapest option is the best option.
  • Every outcome can be guaranteed.
  • Patients should skip their own research or medical advice.

Commercial transparency

How we make money should be clear.

Croatia Dental Guide may earn money through clinic partnerships, introductions, advertising or future patient-support services. But if a commercial relationship exists, it should be disclosed clearly. We want patients to understand how the site works.

Trust is the asset. We do not want to spend it for short-term commission.
