Independent dental tourism comparison for UK patients

Croatia vs Turkey for Dental Treatment

Compare completed dental implant prices, All-on-4 and All-on-6 packages, treatment quality, flights and aftercare—not just the cheapest headline offer.

Which country is better for dental treatment?

Turkey generally offers the lowest dental-treatment prices, particularly for entry-level implant packages. However, completed mainstream All-on-4 and All-on-6 treatment can cost roughly the same in Croatia and Turkey once the final bridge, recognised implant systems and both visits are included. Croatia is normally closer and cheaper to reach from the UK, making follow-up and return visits easier.

Updated July 2026. Prices are planning ranges based on published package research, not personal quotations.

Croatia vs Turkey dental treatment: the quick verdict

Turkey is one of the best-known destinations for affordable dental treatment abroad, while Croatia offers a closer European alternative for UK patients. We compared completed implant and All-on-4 prices, package inclusions, materials, travel costs, regulation and aftercare to explain where each country offers better value.

Croatia vs Turkey dental prices at a glance

Treatment Croatia Turkey Initial conclusion
Completed mainstream implant tooth About €1,050–€1,400 About €750–€1,150 Turkey is usually cheaper.
Completed All-on-4, one jaw About €4,800–€7,000 About €4,000–€6,500 Strong price overlap.
Completed All-on-6, one jaw About €5,500–€8,000 About €5,000–€7,500 Very strong overlap.
Completed full-mouth implant treatment About €10,000–€14,500 About €8,000–€15,000 Mainstream ranges overlap.

These are planning ranges for comparable completed treatment, not the lowest surgery-only headline prices.

Croatia is stronger for

Good mainstream care with easier travel

  • Shorter flights from the UK
  • Lower travel costs on many routes
  • Easier follow-up and return visits
  • EU regulatory and medical-device framework
  • A quieter, generally less sales-driven market
  • Several practical airports for coastal clinic regions
Turkey is stronger for

The lowest possible package price

  • Very large choice of clinics
  • More low-cost headline offers
  • Hotels and airport transfers often bundled
  • Strong direct-flight coverage from regional UK airports
  • A highly developed international-patient infrastructure
  • More clinics competing aggressively for your business
Our overall view

If your priority is the absolute cheapest deal, Turkey will usually offer more options. If you want recognised materials, completed mainstream treatment and practical long-term access to the clinic, Croatia can offer better overall value—even when the clinic price itself is slightly higher.

Why Croatia vs Turkey dental price comparisons go wrong

The lowest prices displayed online are frequently not prices for the same treatment. Two clinics may both advertise an “All-on-4 package” while including completely different stages of care.

A Croatian price may include
  • Implant surgery
  • Temporary fixed teeth
  • Abutments and prosthetic components
  • The final permanent bridge
  • All necessary prosthetic appointments
A low Turkish headline may include
  • Implant surgery
  • Temporary teeth
  • Hotel accommodation
  • Airport and clinic transfers
  • But not necessarily the final permanent bridge

A surgery-and-temporary package is not directly comparable with a completed package that includes the final bridge.

Before comparing any package, establish the following

  1. Is the price for one jaw or both jaws?
  2. Does it include temporary fixed teeth?
  3. Does it include the final permanent bridge?
  4. What material is the final bridge made from?
  5. Are abutments included?
  6. Are extractions and bone procedures included?
  7. Which implant brand and system will be used?
  8. How many visits and hotel nights are required?
  9. Are accommodation and transfers truly included in the quoted total?

For a fuller explanation of individual implant costs, see our guide to dental implants in Croatia and our detailed Croatia dental price guide.

Temporary teeth vs the final permanent bridge

All-on-4 and All-on-6 treatment usually takes place over at least two stages. A low first-stage price can be entirely genuine while still representing only part of the completed treatment.

First visit

1

Examination, scans and detailed treatment planning.

2

Extractions, bone procedures and implant placement where required.

3

A temporary fixed bridge is fitted for the healing period.

Second visit

1

Implant integration, gum health and healing are checked.

2

Final impressions or digital scans, trial stages and bite testing.

3

The definitive fixed restoration is fitted and adjusted.

The final bridge may be reinforced acrylic or composite, metal-ceramic, monolithic zirconia, layered zirconia or zirconia supported by a titanium framework. These are not equivalent products.

Ask one question first: does the price include the final fixed bridge after healing, and exactly what will that bridge be made from?

Dental implant prices in Croatia vs Turkey

Usually, yes—especially at the value and mainstream end of the market. But the phrase “implant price” often refers only to the titanium fixture placed into the bone.

Implant category Turkey planning range How to interpret it
Domestic or value fixture About €300–€425 The lowest-price segment; exact system, component availability and long-term support matter.
Mainstream international fixture About €400–€600 The fairest like-for-like category for comparison with mainstream Croatian prices.
Premium reference-brand fixture About €750–€1,000 Premium Turkish systems can approach or exceed Croatian mainstream fixture prices.

Completed implant tooth comparison

Completed implant treatment Planning range
Turkey, mainstream treatment About €750–€1,150
Croatia, mainstream treatment About €1,050–€1,400
Turkey, premium implant system About €1,100–€1,500

A completed implant tooth may require the fixture, abutment, healing components, crown, surgery and scans, with bone grafting or a temporary tooth added where necessary. A €400 implant is not automatically a €400 completed tooth.

All-on-4 and All-on-6 prices in Croatia vs Turkey

These are practical planning ranges from our published package research. They are deliberately broad because implant brand, bone condition, temporary work and final bridge material can change the price substantially.

All-on-4: one jaw

Package type Croatia Turkey What to watch for
Surgery and temporary teeth only Less commonly advertised separately About £1,600–£3,000 The final permanent bridge may be charged during the second visit.
Completed mainstream package About £3,800–£6,000 About £3,500–£5,500 Compare implant brand, abutments and final bridge material.
Premium or zirconia package About £5,500–£7,500+ About £5,000–£7,000+ “Premium” means little unless the brand and material are named.

All-on-6: one jaw

Package type Croatia Turkey What to watch for
Surgery and temporary teeth only Less commonly separated publicly About £2,300–£3,500 Confirm whether this is the first stage only.
Completed mainstream package About £4,700–£6,800 About £4,000–£6,000 Mainstream completed pricing overlaps considerably.
Premium or zirconia package About £6,000–£8,000+ About £5,500–£7,500+ Laboratory quality and bridge design matter as much as material.

Full-mouth implant restoration

Completed treatment Typical planning range Market pattern
Croatia About £8,500–£12,500+ Fewer very-low-cost packages; prices more often sit in the mainstream completed-treatment range.
Turkey About £7,000–£12,500+ Wider spread, including many cheaper entry-level and incomplete-stage offers.

These figures are not personal treatment quotations. Bone grafting, sinus work, sedation, additional extractions and higher-specification restorations can increase the cost.

The central price finding

Turkey has more genuinely cheap options at the bottom of the market. But once you compare completed treatment using recognised implant systems and similar final restorations, good mainstream care in Croatia and Turkey is often priced in broadly the same range.

Read our dedicated All-on-4 in Croatia guide for a deeper explanation of treatment stages, components and realistic completed costs.

Why dental treatment in Turkey appears cheaper

Turkey is exceptionally effective at packaging and marketing dental tourism. A typical offer may combine treatment, hotel accommodation, airport collection, local transfers, medication and a patient coordinator.

That convenience is real. The difficulty is that the presentation can make the clinical treatment appear more complete than it is. A headline such as “All-on-4 from £1,600” may cover one jaw, implant placement and temporary teeth—but not the final bridge.

This does not automatically make the offer misleading. It means the patient must establish what is due during the second visit and what the completed treatment will cost.

Croatian clinics are generally less focused on tourism-style package marketing. Their published prices can therefore look higher because a larger part of the completed clinical treatment is already included.

Dental treatment quality in Croatia vs Turkey

We found no reliable independent evidence proving that one country consistently produces better dental outcomes than the other. Country labels are less useful than examining the individual dentist, treatment plan, materials, laboratory and aftercare arrangements.

Turkey

Turkey has excellent clinicians, modern facilities, experienced laboratories and a formal authorisation system for international health-tourism providers. Its very large market, however, contains a broad range of standards.

High patient volume and intense price competition can create pressure for rapid decisions, aggressive cosmetic treatment or standardised packages that are not ideal for every patient.

Croatia

Croatia operates within the European Union’s professional and medical-device framework. This creates a familiar regulatory baseline for licensed professionals, component traceability, laboratory materials and patient documentation.

Croatia’s dental-tourism market is smaller and generally less aggressively commercialised. That does not guarantee better treatment, but it can support a calmer process and a more direct relationship with the treating clinic.

Materials used

Clinics in both countries advertise internationally recognised implant systems such as Straumann, Nobel Biocare, Neodent and Osstem. A recognised brand is helpful, but it does not prove that the treatment has been properly planned or executed.

Case selection Bone assessment Implant positioning Surgical skill Laboratory quality Bite design Cleaning access Long-term maintenance

A famous implant brand cannot compensate for weak diagnosis, poor implant positioning or an unsuitable final bridge.

Flights and travel costs from the UK

Turkey has excellent direct-flight availability from major and regional UK airports. Istanbul and Antalya are especially well connected, which can make Turkey easier from Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh and other regional departure points.

Croatia’s main advantage is distance. Flights are commonly around two to three hours rather than four to five hours. This matters more after surgery and when treatment requires two planned journeys.

Travel comparison Croatia or nearby gateway Turkey
Low advance return fare About £30–£70 About £60–£100
More expensive practical return fare About £150–£220 About £180–£300
Mid-range planning figure Roughly £80–£130 Roughly £140–£180
Typical direct flight time About 2–3 hours About 4–5 hours
Regional UK route strength Good but often seasonal Broader and more consistent

Airfares vary by route, season, baggage and treatment dates. These figures are planning ranges based on observed fares, not guarantees.

The practical travel conclusion

Turkey frequently offers more direct choices from regional UK airports. Croatia usually offers the shorter journey and can be materially cheaper—particularly from London or when seasonal routes match the patient’s treatment dates.

Travel to dental clinics in Rijeka and Opatija

Patients considering clinics around Rijeka and Opatija should not search only for flights to Rijeka. The best airport depends on the month, UK departure point, flight price and clinic location.

Rijeka Airport Closest for much of the region, but with limited and seasonal UK services.
Pula Airport Often around 75–100 minutes away by road and served by several seasonal UK routes.
Trieste Airport An overlooked but highly practical option, with direct London flights and roughly a 90-minute drive to Rijeka.
Zagreb Airport A useful year-round fallback, generally around two hours from the Rijeka region by road.

This is why our Free Clinic & Cost Plan includes personalised airport and travel options rather than simply recommending the geographically nearest airport.

Implant brands and final bridge materials

Choosing between All-on-4 and All-on-6 should be a clinical decision, not a package upgrade. Bone volume, bite forces, grinding, implant positions, opposing teeth and prosthetic design all matter.

Acrylic or composite hybrid bridges

Usually less expensive, lighter and easier to repair. They can wear, stain or require maintenance over time.

Metal-ceramic bridges

Built on a metal framework with ceramic layered over it. They can provide strength and good aesthetics but may be heavier and can chip.

Zirconia bridges

Often marketed as the premium option. Zirconia can be strong, stain-resistant and attractive, but its design, weight, laboratory quality and suitability for the patient’s bite still matter.

Never accept “premium” as a complete description. Ask for the exact implant system, abutment type, bridge framework, veneering method and number of final teeth.

What should an “all-inclusive” dental package include?

Turkey is particularly strong at organising hotel stays, airport collection, local transfers, translation and patient coordination. For a nervous patient, that can be genuinely valuable.

But hotel nights and VIP transfers are minor costs compared with a definitive full-arch bridge. Never let the travel extras distract from what is actually being placed in your mouth.

Confirm in writing whether the price includes:

  • Both treatment visits
  • Accommodation during both visits
  • The definitive final restoration
  • Every abutment and prosthetic component
  • Extractions
  • Bone grafting or sinus lifting
  • Temporary fixed teeth
  • The named final bridge material
  • Sedation and medication
  • Follow-up appointments
  • Laboratory remakes or adjustments
  • Treatment if an implant fails
  • Airport and clinic transport
  • Anything that could increase the price
“All-inclusive” is a marketing phrase, not a clinical definition. The clinic should provide a written itemised treatment and inclusion list.

Aftercare, guarantees and return visits

A written guarantee is useful, but the practical ability to use it matters more. Patients should establish whether the guarantee covers the implants, the bridge, components, accidental damage and biological complications.

Turkey’s larger clinics may offer dedicated international-patient teams. Croatia’s advantage is that returning to the original clinic is usually quicker, cheaper and less disruptive.

Ask what happens if:

  • a temporary tooth chips;
  • the bite feels wrong;
  • the final bridge requires adjustment;
  • an implant fails to integrate;
  • a component breaks;
  • you need an unexpected third visit.

A lower treatment price matters less if using the guarantee requires an expensive, difficult return journey.

Who should choose Croatia—and who should choose Turkey?

Turkey may suit you when
  • Your main priority is the lowest possible completed price.
  • You are prepared to compare many clinics carefully.
  • You find a transparent package with named materials and all stages included.
  • Direct flights from your regional airport are much better.
  • You value bundled hotels, transfers and coordination.
  • You accept the cost and effort of future return travel.
Croatia may suit you when
  • You want good mainstream care rather than the cheapest available deal.
  • You prefer treatment within the European Union.
  • You value shorter flights and easier return visits.
  • You want a quieter, less sales-driven process.
  • You are considering Rijeka, Opatija, Istria, Zagreb or Dalmatia.
  • The completed clinic price is close to the Turkish offer you are comparing.

When neither Croatia nor Turkey may be the right choice

Staying in the UK may be safer or more practical when treatment requires frequent monitoring, your general health is unstable, active gum disease has not been controlled or you cannot realistically return to the overseas clinic.

Overseas treatment may also make little sense when:

  • the total saving becomes modest after travel and accommodation;
  • the proposed treatment is much more extensive than expected;
  • healthy or repairable teeth are being removed without a convincing explanation;
  • you are being pressured to decide before a proper diagnosis;
  • the clinic cannot provide a workable aftercare plan;
  • your main reason for choosing the clinic is a social-media transformation or salesperson.

The cheapest overseas option is not good value if the treatment is unnecessary, rushed or difficult to maintain.

Questions to ask before booking dental treatment abroad

Ask for the answers in writing before paying a deposit or booking travel.

  1. What is my diagnosis, and which natural teeth can reasonably be preserved?
  2. Why is each proposed extraction necessary?
  3. Is this price for one jaw or both?
  4. Does it include every implant fixture and abutment?
  5. Which exact implant brand and system will be used?
  6. Are temporary fixed teeth included?
  7. Is the final permanent bridge included?
  8. What material and framework will the final bridge use?
  9. How many final teeth will it contain?
  10. Are extractions included?
  11. Are bone grafting and sinus procedures included?
  12. Are scans, sedation and medication included?
  13. How many visits and nights are required?
  14. What happens if an implant does not integrate?
  15. What exactly does the guarantee cover?
  16. Who pays for return travel if further work is needed?
  17. Will you receive an implant passport and copies of your records?
  18. Who is personally responsible for your care before, during and after treatment?

Frequently asked questions

Is dental treatment cheaper in Turkey or Croatia?

Turkey usually has the lowest advertised prices and more entry-level packages. However, completed mainstream implant treatment in Croatia and Turkey often overlaps once both visits, temporary teeth, the permanent bridge and comparable materials are included.

Is Croatia safer than Turkey for dental treatment?

Neither country is automatically safe or unsafe. Croatia operates within the European Union’s professional and medical-device framework, while Turkey has a formal authorisation system for international health-tourism providers. The individual dentist, diagnosis, clinic standards, materials and aftercare plan matter more than the country alone.

How much does All-on-4 cost in Croatia compared with Turkey?

A completed All-on-4 restoration for one jaw typically falls around €4,800–€7,000 in Croatia and €4,000–€6,500 in Turkey. Much cheaper Turkish advertisements may cover implant surgery and temporary teeth but exclude the final permanent bridge.

Are dental implants better in Croatia or Turkey?

Both countries have clinics using recognised systems such as Straumann, Nobel Biocare, Neodent and Osstem. The implant brand alone does not determine the result. Diagnosis, implant positioning, surgical experience, bridge design and maintenance are equally important.

Is Croatia easier to reach from the UK?

Flights to Croatia and nearby gateways are generally shorter and can be cheaper, especially from London or when seasonal routes are available. Turkey often has stronger direct-flight coverage from regional UK airports.

Which airports are best for dental treatment in Rijeka or Opatija?

Depending on your departure airport and travel dates, useful options can include Rijeka, Pula, Trieste and Zagreb. The geographically nearest airport is not always the cheapest or most convenient.

Does an All-on-4 package include the final teeth?

Not always. Some packages cover implants, surgery and temporary teeth only. Before comparing prices, ask whether the definitive fixed bridge fitted after healing is included and what material it will use.

Which destination is best for UK dental patients?

Turkey often suits patients seeking the lowest possible price and a fully organised tourism package. Croatia may suit patients who prioritise shorter travel, EU-based care, easier return visits and mainstream treatment at a competitive completed price.

Croatia vs Turkey: our final verdict

Turkey remains one of the world’s strongest dental-tourism destinations. It offers huge choice, genuinely low prices, extensive package infrastructure and many highly experienced clinicians.

But its lowest advertisements are often not directly comparable with completed Croatian treatment. Once the same number of jaws, implant tier, temporary teeth, final bridge, restoration material and treatment stages are included, good mainstream treatment in the two countries can cost roughly the same.

The clearest way to put it

Turkey is often the better destination for the absolute cheapest deal. Croatia can be the better destination for patients seeking good-quality completed treatment at a fair price, with shorter travel, lower travel costs on many routes and more manageable aftercare.

The best decision is still based on the individual dentist, clinic, treatment plan and package—not the country alone.

How we approached this comparison: We separated implant fixtures from completed implant teeth, and first-stage full-arch packages from completed treatment containing a definitive bridge. We also separated value and mainstream implant systems from premium reference brands, retained original package wording, and reviewed published prices from seven Croatian and more than fifteen Turkish providers or sources. Travel figures use representative UK routes and distinguish low advance fares from more expensive practical fares. Package definitions remain inconsistent, so all figures are planning ranges rather than promises, diagnoses or quotations.
